Regardless to if you’ve been effected by earthquake, lightning, hurricane, fire, windstorm or another cause, the insurance claim process is a difficult one. We begin our provisions by making sure that our clients are within the obligations of their contract to avoid facing ineligibility of benefit or claim awards. We work to make sure that the reason of the losses are assessed correctly so that the provisions of the policy are applied appropriately. We make a professional determination of the extremes of damage and the comparable loss as associated to the various coverage types. We work to identify what the unique sub-limits, Extensions, Exclusions and Added Coverage mean in regards to your individual claim. This includes the necessary documentation of what is done and not done by the insurer at every phase of the process of claim to be certain that they carry out their responsibilities in regards to you and the claim you’ve filed.

Another service that we proudly offer is the specialized concept of appraisal for damages. Some may refer to this as a process of binding arbitration. I am a resident of Breezy Point and in the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy I was very lucky. The fire that devastated my community ended one door away from my home and the water stayed in my basement. That being said, the siding on my home was melted, the bay window in the front of my home was severely cracked, my roof needed to be replaced and my home was filled with smoke and ash. Upon assessing the damage I got lucky again when I was introduced to James Guercio of Rubin & Rosen Adjusters. James immediately negotiated for triple of what the insurance company offered to sanitize and clean my home. He always made himself available and he negotiated a fair and equitable settlement for the rest of the damage to my home. I was extremely happy with the results as many of my neighbors are still fighting for fair settlements almost two years later. Hi James, recently I had someone ask me if I could give them any advice after they had a significant house fire and it brought back memories as you can imagine. I told them the best advice I could offer is to give you a call and see if you could be of help. I went on to tell them how my house fire horrified my wife and twin 7 year olds, my dog and myself, having all been in bed sleeping at the time and being awaken to such a scary situation.
Anyway I told them the first time I knew I had made a wise choice was when you told me not to accept a trailer on my front lawn that you would make sure I got a apartment. Well when I see people with trailers on their front lawns after a house fire I think of the completely furnished 3 bedroom, 2 bath house, laundry room, full kitchen, dinning room, living room and full basement with a play room and a large yard for the dog and kids to play in that we got because of you. And it was in our school district so my son and daughter went to the same school and it help to keep their life a little more normal, that was really helpful. When you told me my wife and kids didn't need to wake up every morning, look at our burnt house and relive the fire in a cold trailer as we were approaching the holidays of Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas I think now I would have never known I had a choice and would have settle for a trailer. My wife and I sometimes think back which is more often then you can imagine, we reflect on all the friends, neighbors and people like yourself that helped us though a very traumatic time of our lives. Now we walk into our beautiful home we share with our wonderful kids and realize we are a blessed family. So thanks again for all your help, you guys at Rubin and Rosen are great.
PS: My friend Molly that had all the damage from hurricane Sandy still thanks me when ever she sees me for referring you, she loves her rebuilt home in Long Beach. Be safe, Keep in touch!

Our home was severely impacted by Superstorm Sandy. Fortunately we referred to James at Ruben and Rosen by a neighbor. There is no way we could have navigated the insurance red tape and nightmare adjusters alone. James and his staff handles everything professionally and compassionately. We were treated like people and not numbers. They dealt with my many neurotic and frustrated( at the adjuster assigned, not them!) emails and calls sympathetically and quickly. This letter is to express my deepest gratitude for supporting my family through a tragic time in our lives. When a fire, forced us out of our home on Christmas morning (our son's first Christmas). devastation struck! As my husband and I watched helplessly the flames engulf our home, 'remember so vividly thinking, "Thank God none of us were hurt but what are we going to do now?"

We were never prepared to deal with a disaster (such as a fire) in our lives. Such was the case when we had to deal with our home burning down. We were not at all prepared, nor knowledgeable about the enormous task and demands that are required to putting your life back in order. Within hours of the fire, our adjuster stepped right in and took all the necessary steps to make a disastrous time for us into a smooth running transitional period. Immediately after the fire, R&R arranged for services providers to take care of our home and salvageable property. Our insurance policy and claims were explained to us step by step in laymen's terms so we understood our rights. Our adjuster was able to provide us with immediate answers to all of our questions and concerns. He is an excellent liaison between us and the insurance company and has given us constant assurance that we are his priority, not the insurance company. Our adjuster knows the "ins and outs" of the insurance claim process and has saved us hours of work and months of aggravation and heartache. He was also able to provide us with an excellent referral for a contractor to rebuild our home.

It is my pleasure to write this letter of recommendation on behalf of public adjusters Rubin and Rosen and especially James Guercio.

Last January my parents suffered a fire at their home of 40 years. Our first and foremost concern was that of their safety and health as well as the safety and health of their tenants and neighbors. We then watched helplessly and in horror as windows were broken, water was pouring out of the building and my parents’ possessions were literally being thrown from the windows. Once the fire department left, we were able to go inside to survey the damage to the house, we couldn’t believe the damage. The inside of the house was unrecognizable. Since we had never suffered such a loss we were left confused and overwhelmed at the situation.

Soon thereafter we met James Guercio and to this day my mom calls him her “guardian angel.” James met with my parents who are senior citizens and gave all of us a sense of hope and encouragement. He reassured us that while it would take time, my parents would once again move back into their home. As you can imagine we all had questions. James answered our immediate questions was always available to answer our calls when additional questions arose. He worked diligently with my parents’ best interest in mind always. He kept up aware of key appointments and would update us on the status of our insurance claim regularly. He even came by and visited my parents to make sure they were okay!

The office staff at Rubin and Rosen was also a pleasure to work with. In the time it took to for my parents to move back into their home they got to know me on a first name basis. The personal attention my family and I received was greatly appreciated.

My parents are back at home now. Each time we hear a fire truck pass we stop and reflect on our experience and while we do not wish the horror of a fire on anyone, we are truly grateful to James Guercio and the staff at Rubin and Rosen for their professionalism and kindness.

I only hope you never have to experience a lost due to a house fire. I unfortunately did, back in February 2009; I lost my home to a fire. It was one of the most stressful, depressing experiences me and my family have ever endured. Can you imagine how lost you feel when something like this happens? What do I do now, where do I go? How can I reach my insurance company? How about my personal items? Is my home going to be rebuilt? Where do I turn for help? There are more than a thousand questions running through your mind as you watch your home go up in flames. At the time of the fire you are approached by the media, by insurance brokers and by adjusters. They are hovering over you like white on rice. You are so lost in your thoughts you don’t know what is happening.

At the time, we were approached by a gentleman name John Marciano, he was patient and caring and not all in my face. He was an adjuster, with Rubin and Rosen Adjusters. I didn’t even know what an adjuster did, who is an adjuster why are they are approaching me? How can I benefit with an adjuster?

Well as it turns out he was an angel sent to us during this crisis. He was knowledgeable, patient and caring. He turned out to be a real friend during one of the worst times in our lives. He helped us with hotel stay, temporary housing, rental furniture; he helped us at a time when we didn’t know where to turn. I never once called my insurance company for anything he and his company handled everything. I have neighbors who chose not to use an adjuster and there ordeal lasted longer than ours and they had to fight there insurance company for the basics. John fought for us and we got more than what we had before the fire.

We were blessed to have had John from Rubin and Rosen Adjusters on our side during our lost. He was heaven sent.

My home caught fire on in February, 2007 and Ruben and Rosen were referred to me by a friend. I was relieved when I began to speak with their adjusters as opposed to the others lurking outside of my home after the fire. I have been extremely delighted but not surprised by the always timely and professional way in which Ruben and Rosen handled the fire and the insurance company.
